New Zealand’s Prime Minister John Key was in France when the festivities there to celebrate Bastille Day were brutally cut short when a truck bulldozed through a packed crowd in the French Riviera town of Nice.

Mr Key lost no time in condemning this senseless attack and extending the sympathies of New Zealanders to our French brothers and sisters. Mr Key said: “The fact this attack was directed at innocent people celebrating their national day makes it particularly horrific. No one should have to worry about such violence when going about their daily lives.
